How to Complete a DEX
A DEX, Direct Exchange, electronically sends the delivery, invoice, and credit information directly to the store through a dex port normally located in the receiving area of the DSD store. The Gimme Key is needed to complete the DEX operation. Follow the steps below to complete a successful DEX Operation at the DSD stores after plugging the Gimme Key into the Dexing port. When completing an invoice at a DEX customer you will be prompted to "Perform DEX?" Check to make sure that there are values in the Duns# and Comm ID locations then Click "Yes"

After selecting "Yes" it will take you to the Account Service Screen. You can check the settings for the Gimme Key here by clicking on the ellipse on the top right of the screen and selecting "Settings".
- Verify if the Gimme Key S/N has been entered correctly. Then tap the back arrow to continue.
The Gimme key S/N should read as XXXX-YYYY.
In the example the Gimme Key S/N is 2104-8760. - Click Send to transmit the DEX to the Store. It will search for the Gimme Key and then Send the information to the store.

After tapping the Send button, the DEXing process will begin by searching for the Gimme Key and then sending the DEX data.

Once the DEX communication successfully sends the receive the send option will turn gray and then the Receive option will turn Brown. Click "Receive" to Receive the invoice back from the store.

Once the DEX has been completed, OTS will bring the user back to the Customer Account Screen. There will be an indicator below the Invoice information that an Image was not attached to the Invoice.

To print and add an image. Tap and hold the invoice.

A Popup menu will appear, tap Reprint to print a copy of the invoice.

Tap Invoice Image to take images of the invoice.

When the invoice is completed and finalized you will not be able to move forward until you capture an image of the store's invoice copy.
*Please note If you have multiple pages of Proof of Delivery documents, an image of each page will need to be taken.
Tap Take Picture.
